Age of The Five - Trudi Canavan

Trudi Canavan is an author of many international best selling fantasy books. Trudi's Age of The Five trilogy is one of my favourite fantasy trilogies. This probably has something to do with the fact that this trilogy also has immortals. I have this thing about Immortality, I find it fascinating to say the least.

The Age of the Five follows Auraya the newest member of the White. The White are the Gods chosen and they represent the circle of gods and lead the Circlians. The 5 gods that make up the circle are said to have rid the world of all other gods creating a magnificent era of peace under the leadership of their representatives, the White.

Before long a powerful black sorcerer makes himself known and it is revealed that the Pentadrians known only as a small cult in the southern land, is a lot larger and more powerful than previously suspected.

Soon enough the White also get wind of a possible Wild, A sorcerer of old Wild magic, magic that doesn't rely upon the God's power.

Trudi Canavan has an amazing story telling ability and the Age of The Five is truly a work of art.

The Tide Lords - Jennifer Fallon

Jennifer Fallon is one of my all time favourite fantasy authors, having written quite a few top fantasy books. My favourite series by Jennifer Fallon is The Tide Lords, which spans across four great books.
The Tide Lords follows the Duchess Arkady who has been asked to investigate a prisoner who is claiming to be Cayal the Immortal Prince. Cayal's story is backed up by the incredible feat of surviving the hangman's noose.

Cayal is just one of many Tide Lords, known to almost everyone only as a deck of Tarot cards. Throughout history on Amyrantha there have been many cataclysms, all of them attributed according to the Tarot legend to the awesome power of the Tide Lords. The Tide Lords are said to be able to wield such amazing power over all the elements, that it is said they can move mountains, make volcanoes erupt, make a whole lake disappear and rain down on another continent, even bring an asteroid hurtling towards the planet.

The idea of immortality and immense power is extremely attractive to lots of people, including myself. Having a story to read such as this was really entertaining, and I enjoyed it a lot. Jennifer Fallon has done an incredible job at character building, she captures the mindset of immortals as if she knows what it is really like. I enjoyed this series so much I have read it about four times over the last few years. If you have ever thought about what it would be like to be immortal then you will love it as much as I did. I highly recommend The Tide Lord series by Jennifer Fallon to any fantasy lover.
